Have a plan and make sure everyone in your household is on the same page regarding the plan. Probably not something a lot of people think about, but it might be a good idea to purchase a hand crank-operated radio to listen in on PSA’s, emergency broadcasts, etc.
When my kids were little. I showed them how to shut off the water to the house in case of a burst pipe and how to escape from upstairs bedrooms. It’s just being ready and having everyone else ready that you live with.Â
I always keep some extra things around for an emergency. It is always better to have something on hand than wishing you had. Especially things I know that I will use one way or another.
Having a plan and supplies is only effective if everyone is familiar with them. If you have children practice fire drills frequently, use and replace your emergency items, nothing like having all the expired food in the worldÂ

Emergencys can be hectic, just got to stay calm and focused and communicate with each other. With a plan you’re going to make it.
Check your emergency kit in your car. Â Make sure everything is up to date and re-supply if needed.
